This is why you use the caliper clips
Well I got around to taking care of my messed up caliper mount.
This is why you need to use the caliper pad slider on your brakes.
I have been having lots of noise from the rear and yesterday I started having some clunking when I first started driving (it would go away after about 10 feet).
Whoever did the brakes last did not put any on the pass side and only the lower one on the drivers side.
My "fix" was to use some JB weld to fill the worn away area then put the slider clips on. I am hoping it works, otherwise I will be having to replace the entire caliper mount. I debated trying to weld to fill the area, but 2 problems, only welder I have easy access to is a crappy stick welder, plus I am not sure what the mounts are made of so it may not work.
I do have a mechanic friend who could probably weld them for me, and if the JB Weld does not work, I may try that before replacing the mounts.
While I had it apart, the kit I got also had the boots for the calipers, so I replaced those also, 2 of them were torn so needed to be replaced anyway.
