Well my dad bought a new to him truck a few months back since some idiot hit his S10 while it was parked in out driveway. Anyways the "New" truck is a 98 f150 2wd and it just failed inspection today. Sounds like someone tried to do a break job and now the lines are twisted up. Also needs new lower ball joints. How hard are the ball joints to replace?

For you guys that have signs of cv wear.. lucky sobs! Mine went out in town, lost the ability to steer and took a small chunk out of the inside of my diff. Had to trailer it home after it sat in two parking spots at lowes for a day or two lol. First thing I ever broke on it... about 45 minutes after hitting some nasty mud holes in 4 hi lol.
Last time I had to go rescue someone in the mud, it was my kid, ripped a sidewall in I believe it was 33 or 35" tire on her Rebel F250 lol. It was behind a Home Depot 4Wheeling w/friends, - Jeeps, a Cherokee and CJ5. They couldn't pull her out. So loaded up the 150 with a set of stock 250 tires and an Emglo compressor, tools and headed out. Truck was bottomed out in the mud lol. I yanked it out , got it on hard ground, then directed her friend to swap out all four tires. Hey, -I had some fun!

Damn, just thru a good CVC out Jacked, a Motorcraft. High miles, but good. Hate that, - save things forever, then get sick of it being in your way, -you chuck it. - Only to find out out, some one could of used it. Just tossed a bunch of Mortocraft coils out as well, kept two that were still in the wrapper. Injectors, in the same box. Heavy little box, - at least 50 coils in there lol. Theres guys that go around and take scrap metal you put to the curb, so, it's not a total loose...

They said someone put the calipers on "wrong" and the lines got twisted up. First I have ever heard of that.

Got allot done on the truck yesterday, took some shots today. - Fenders removed, misc front end parts off, pressure washed the frame down, cut passenger side rocker out, test fit the new rocker, then hit a that snag on the drivers rocker. Quit there, -
Contemplated D-side a bit, weighed the options then picked the one I'd rather do. The divers side is going to be a little more work, few more bucks.. jferg92 , - To answer your question....No. Apparently the D-side rocker for 97/98 SCabs were never stamped as one part, which became apparent going over it and researching a bit. Why would they if the manufacturere didn't build it that way ? Yea, so, -
Here's what it is at the moment, -
Plan , - shouldn't be too bad. Purchased a 99 S-cab Drivers side Rocker last night, - not here yet. When it arrives, cut 75% of the 98 rocker out leaving the rear door jam...since the 99's didn't have one. Tac all parts in place to the vehicle, tac slices. Continue this way to assure proper fastening and NO warpage.
___________
So, that's figured out, now I have to take the rockers back off , set them aside and cut the bad spots in the cab out. I can whip up a home brake real quick to fab those pieces for replacement.
But for now, takin a break, -my backs into choppin wood... it's a great way to relax.
