I mounted up my F250 transmission cooler last evening, but didn't get it plumbed.

I had everything ready to hook up and went to the parts store for the fittings, but it turns out that the guy at O'Riley's doesn't understand what a compression fitting is. It's a good thing I hadn't cut the hard lines, and could simply re-install the factory cooler. I'll stop by the local plumbing supply house this afternoon, and *should* be able to pick up what I need. The guy there was very helpful on the phone this AM, and is more likely to actually know compression fittings, MIP, FIP, barb.... so I feel pretty confident. I'm also picking up a couple fittings and some hose to install my trans temp gauge sender and eliminate the leaking/seeping flex-section in the factory trans-to-cooler line. This will be much simpler and cheaper than replacing the factory piece in its entirety.

While I have things apart, I swapped the bulbs in my Hella 500's to 100W and got the beams up out of the dirt and aimed properly. Holy crap, I'd forgotten how those things light up the road! And now with the 100-watt bulbs... Wow! I'll need to test fit the grille and trim a little more to allow for the adjustments, as the light bases just kiss the egg-crate portion.

Tonight (hopefully): Completion of the trans cooler and temp sensor install.

Andy

Had a few hours to make up a quick center console to fit my new backup screen. 3/4 MDF on the sides with 1/4" ABS on the top. Next time I go home I'll get the 3 pod USB/12v/Volt Meter put in the side of the console.

Did you end up selling the last one? I liked that one.

After replacing the pcv I had stinky rough idle show up. Cleaned the man today and it seems to be gone. Cleared the codes...p0171,0174...hope they don't show back up. If they do I'll replace the fuel filter which I intend to do and actually already have. Unfortunately I will be on the road for a few weeks. I guess it will wait until I get back.

More times than not those two codes showing up together end up being caused by a vacuum leak. Check the elbow for the PCV tube at the back of the intake manifold and make sure it's not torn or a hole in it. Easy way to find vac leaks is throttle body or mag cleaner sprayed around the intake in various places to see if the idle goes up any.

Swapped out my XB35 ballasts for a set of gen 3 Hellas, and downloaded the MPT 93 Race tune to her.
