I forgot yours had the motorized face. Do you have any pica of how you have yours? Any in your build thread?
There are a couple of finished pics on my build thread, but I didn't take any during the install. I can take a couple of close-up pics tomorrow if you'd like.

I am installing my Pioneer Double DIN on Tuesday; any tricks on the install?
I'll second the oscillating tool to cut the dash. It cut it so well I didn't even need to clean it up.

I cut only the top of the opening. There's (typically) no need to remove the lower bar. I also did not use a kit at all with mine. Tomorrow I can post a link to the thread I used as reference if you'd like. Just let me know.

Oh, also, for the rear support, I used the stud from my 03 radio coupled with the rubber bumper/stud from the 99. It worked out perfectly.

I splurged and added SiriusXM when I installed my double-DIN, but I don't like the idea of the magnet-mounted external antennas. First I tried it under the dash cover, but it lost signal occasionally. After trying it *on* the dash for a week with good results, I decided to go for a semi-permanent installation. I painted up a spare Sirius antenna (smaller than the one that came with the kit) and installed it this evening. Not wanting to spend close to $20 for a can of SEM, I found some paint that ended up being really close to the color of the dash. Reception is fine in this location.

Truth be told, I'm not sure if I'll end up keeping the service or not. The selection and convenience are nice, but the audio quality rather sucks due to their compression and low bitrate transmission. (It's about the same as standard FM.) Maybe if I can get the $5/month special deal at huge end of the trial, I'll run with it. We'll see.

That is a super clean xm install man. I would love some up close shots of yours just to see the differences between the two of our instapls if you could.

I just noticed those slots on the dash insert. Isn't that the factory spot for a hidden microphone?

New LED, first two pics.

Not sure I'm a fan of the bright white anymore. Just being in the garage with the door open is enough, I can't imagine at night.

Ohio, if it's not a problem I would love to see the pics as well as post link. Thanks also for the pics of the Sirius/XM antenna and GPS. That's the spot I was thinking for GPS, but hadn't thought to pair it up nicely alongside the Sirius antenna. If it works without signal loss then that's a great spot.

Thanks. I appreciate the kind words. The satellite receiver (and a Chromecast) is mounted under the removable panel like so:

I had to (very carefully) drill a 1/2" hole in the well under the screw cover/trim where the antenna is mounted in order to get the connector through.

Those slots you see in the pic below hide the light sensor for the automatic headlights.

Below are a few close-up shots of the deck.

In this one, you can see that I lucked out in not having to lower the deck any. Even 1mm higher, and the face would not have closed.

I originally thought about swapping locations with my alarm LED (in the other screw cover), as that spot is between the wipers and unobscured. I was concerned the wiper blade might interfere with the signal, but there've been no issues to date.

Build thread link is HERE and in my sig below.

I used "warm white" LED's in my dome lights, and they're not nearly as harsh as the normal HID-looking white LED's. You might want to give those a try.

LOL! That's my USAF working-on-aircraft habit still in place, my friend! I usually still finish 'em with a single-edged razor blade, too.
