I looked up about Ford doing it for free, so I gave them a call. They informed me that they no longer offer the reports, and said they used Marti. I went for the deluxe; a lot more at $46.
Now an XLT in Colorado
Well, they "informed" you incorrectly.

Marti reports are great for dentside trucks, ford sold all their dentside database and info to Marti years back. If you want info on a 73-79 Ford truck you gotta go to Marti

The first vehicle I ever worked on was a '77. My mother flaked out for a few weeks and I ended up staying at my Uncles house when I was a kid. My uncle said to me, "You're a boy about to be a man, you're mom's a Psycho, you need to learn how to do work and earn your keep." @13 I swapped a good drivetrain from an bad bodied 78 and put it in a Good bodied '77. I learned to Turn a wrench, drive a truck and throw hay. Good Times! I love a clean Dentside.

When I was a mere 4 years old, my Grandfather bought a brand new 79 F350 XLT, 2WD with a 460 and a C6. What a pulling son of a gun that was. He used it to pull 4 to 6 horses all the time. It also hauled a lot of hay. Still got 9 miles per gallon with or without a load, LOL.

Got my 35 in 52, 7 years old. Learned to drive in the hayfield and was on the back roads in a few years. Loved that truck.

Today I finally did the front brakes, new rotors, pads, calipers, and lines. I went with rotors and calipers for a 98 expedition so I could do the expy brake upgrade, might as well since I'm already doing it, can't hurt.
Got everything installed minus the rubber brake line that drops down to the rear axle and bleeding them all. I'll get to that stuff tomorrow.
Tomorrow I'll also have to get my grinder out and grind away at some of the casting on the calipers, since they don't have enough clearance with the 16" wheels on my truck and ever-so-slightly scrape on the inside of my wheels. Just FYI for anybody planning to do this while running 16" wheels.
It doesn't take much, the wheels still turn when bolted on but you can hear and see where it's scraping, and it leaves a groove in the wheel from it too.
