So only the 250 LD's came with moulding on the bed?

Nope, it's an early year-model thing. The reason I said F250 LD, is that at that point, they were early builds. (1997-1998). Later on, it was changed to the F150 7700 package.

Well today I yanked the old 4.6 out. Wasn't to bad, my engine leveler wouldn't bring the front up high enough but I had an old ratchet strap that pulled the nose right up. Pulled the truck back out side with my wife's help and pressure washed the engine bay and we pressure washed the old engine. After it dried, I pulled the pan and checked the end play in the crank as well as all the rods. Seen that number 6 had no movement so I pulled the cap off and it appears the rod bearing had spun and got all galled up. Still can't rotate the engine even though the rest of the mains and rod bearings have a little play in them. I can only assume the rings are seized/rusted to the cylinder walls. Someone on here told me that this was a remand engine if that is true then the builder didn't replace the rod bearings if that is a date on the back of the bearing because this is the trucks build date I believe.

My moldings, specially around the doors have nicks in them. Hate to see what my doors would have looked like without them. My door metal is flawless except for the crack from the window closing too tightly lol.
the oh so common crack lol. why does that even happen? why didn't ford remedy a fix for it lol I hate them being there

I've thought about a 5.4 but not sure which year would be an even swap. I've read a post on here about the 4.6 to 5.4 swap and sounds like it could be a head ache waiting to happen. I can manage the coils but there was somethings in the post I wasn't understanding.

it's a direct bolt in plug n play swap. depending on year of the motor, everything's the same besides torque converter and PCM, IIRC.

If it were me I would grab a 97-98 5.4 and throw some pi heads and intake on and call it a day.
