I kinda like washing the truck because when I'm home there's no work. I work out of state so when I'm home it's pretty much just free time.

today I drove my truck, for the first time in a while. it hasn't been sitting without being driven though, my dads drove it twice and my dads friend borrowed it and drove it to pick up some patio furniture since I've driven it last. so hasn't been driven much, but it's better than none.

upon getting used to the trucks throttle and throttle response again after going so long without driving it, I obtained a large amount of wheel hop on a semi slick road by getting into it a little too much when taking off from a stop sign

whoops

I know that from November to February I have no work because I'm a finish carpenter and all the stores want to be open during the holidays. The rest of the months I'm going to be on the road so the truck is in the back of my mind which is part of the reason I'm going to sell it because I don't want it to just sit.

I did that two, just before retiring. It was the only way to make 6 figures,- in the trades....road warrior work. Moneys great, sucked being away from home.

But yea, when home I did that as well. Washing the trucks in the drive was relaxing and rewarding in a way lol.

Or you could just quit caring what it looks like.
I think I have washed my truck 4 times in 2 years. My kids have washed it 2-3 times. Never waxed it.
And it shows too. Hood looks like crap (clear coat peeling off) and I still have not painted the drivers side bed. But so long as it drives good and the interior is comfortable, I am fine with it.
I luckily don't live in the salt belt, and I am far enough away from the coast to not worry about rust too much.

I used to wash mine a ton, the neighbor would stop and tell me I was washing the paint off lol.
After it got the body damage and ended up with a off color bed, I just kept it caked in mud. As far as anyone knew it was one solid color lol. I still have people that don't know what color it is
