I picked up a new battery after mine crapped out this morning.

Why is it factory battery's last 7-8 years and aftermarket 4 yrs ??

It started to drag after the first freezing night but I was hoping for atleast another week out of it.

They use to, - no longer.

The only battery that's still good and can last up to 10 years is the sears diehard platinum.

They are made by Odyssey and are just over 200.

What's your thoughts on Mixing Brand types for dual battery set ups? I got the National Luna dual battery kit a while ago but haven't had the heart to buy a second battery and install it, lol.
