Oh yeah, they block better than your typical $15 or $20 set of muffs. I love them,I know you can get them on www.budsgunshop.com they're green muffs, the brand is howard something... maybe lee howard? Either way,its worth the investment. Going on 3 years with deer seasons, dozens of ranges trips and a lot of accidentally leaving them on and they are still using original batteries

Don't mess around with your ears! There are some seriously miserable conditions that come from hearing damage. Look up tinnitus, there is no cure. It's basically a ringing in your ears that never goes away. People have all different levels of it. Everything you do is accumulating. I have it pretty mild from playing drums/in a band when I was in highschool. As well as being an idiot and running chainsaws and wood chippers with nothing on. I would also listen to in-ear headphones loud while biking. After a bad scare where my ears didn't stop ringing for days, I started researching and came across tinnitus. I went OCD with the hearing protection from there on out and never listen to loud music anymore, it's gotton better over the last couple years. Always wear hearing protection, even double when you can. Foam plugs + over the ear muffs. Even doing stuff like lawn mowers, weed wackers, chainsaws, etc, that you don't think are a big deal - wear at least one form of protection, for really loud stuff, double it up, it's worth it, it all adds up over the years. I don't own guns and.. ready for this .. never shot guns ever, but I can't imagine doing it without hearing protection. I've read one of the most common problems members of the armed forces report on return is tinnitus. It can be a simple as ringing in your ear that never goes away, or as bad as migraines and loud buzzing/hissing/ringing that can drive some people crazy
Yea ive never been big on protection..... Well ear protection lol ..... But its still ringing, im bout to go insane to.... Ive been rearching tinnitus and i really hope goin to the range without protection yesterday mornin didnt do permanent damage to my ears..... I just want the ringing to stop...
If it was a one time deal, there is a very good chance it will subside. Mine was really bad for a couple days after listening to some new ear buds way too loud on a bike ride. Over the last couple years it's gotten much better. It's also said that your brain eventually adjusts to the frequency of the ring and is able to kind of almost *ignore* it to an extent.
In the meantime, you can get yourself a *white noise* machine or things like that to help drown out the noise when you are going to sleep if you're having trouble with the ringing.

I always sleep with an air purifier/fan on high, even in the winter, for the noise. very soothing
It's also nice to listen to stuff like this if you're going to be on the computer for a couple hours. There's all sorts of ways to distract yourself from the noise, rain, ocean, nature sounds, white noise machines. For those that haven't experienced it, it can be hard to imagine just how annoying it can be
