How did you try and remove the molding? When I did mine I let it sit in the sun for a while, then took some fishing line and sawed up and down for about 8-10''. You could bend the molding enough to just pull it off very carefully and it just came right off. Then I let the eraser wheel do the rest of the work removing the adhesive.

It's 100 degrees outside, so along with the heat I used a hair drier. The molding came right off, I used the eraser wheel on the leftover glue residue. The molding I assume held dirt around the outside which over the years left the scratch of the outline. I have tried buffing it out with Meguillans Ultimate Compound and Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound, the scratch is not coming off. I tried a buffer wheel, a Mothers powerball, and even some old fashion elbow greese, nothing.

You might need to do a light sand and buff

I used adhesive remover and plastic putty knives. Got the actual moldings off in about 5 minutes. That adhesive remover is AMAZING. Used mothers Carbanua wax and got most of it off. 3M rubbing compound should finish it off. I highly suggest using 3M rubbing compound. Best on the market by far.

Thats a u-joint all day. Take some penetrating oil and spray one down then drive and see if the noise persists. If it does then replicate the process on the other one. So you know which to replace.

By buff do you mean Polish? Or buff the wax? Its absurd to "polish" a truck after you wax it because you then remove all the wax you just put on...
