How does it like turning with the welded front when it isnt in 4x4? I would love to get a hold of a 77 and build it.

Just got off the phone with discount tire. Kind of confused from our conversation. I want to put 285 70 17 goodyear duratracs on my 03 Screw 4x4. My truck is stock, no lift or level. He said he didn't think it would fit and his computer was telling him that shouldn't work. Seems like most people on here said it would. Should I be concerned?

PS I plan on having it leveled via torsion bar crank after the wheels are put on

Every shop will tell you they won't fit to cover themselves. They will fit. Dozens of people run that setup on here

Turns just fine. Only time I notice it while driving is when the passenger side tire hits softer terrain then it pulls that way a bit. My mpg did take a hit as the whole front end always turns including the drive shaft.

How do you like the welded front ?
Do you notice it in 2wd on the street since your wheels are spinning the diff?

What did you run for a locker out back?
I had a Detroit in my last 7700 and loved it.

I have an aussie locker out back. The front works for the price I paid Lol. Pushs through corners quite a bit so tight trails are kinda a pain. Being the diff hasn't blown up yet I would put a mechanical locker or arb if I was gonna keep ifs

Ive been neglecting mine for that past year or so since it never gets driven anymore. Decided to show it some love, and get it ready for my OBX trip this month. So, not today, but this past month ive fixed/done : an oil change (finally,) clay bared (finally,) and waxed it, replaced the dash cup holders with one from an Expedition (ash tray/change holder,) replaced my OHC with one from an Expedition, mine was burnt up, rotated the tires, tightened up my steering stabalizers (hardly hand tight,) replaced the door panel lights (both burnt out, still trying to figure out why no interior lights come on only when pass. Door is opened,) replaced idler arm (pitman next,) fixed my passenger side door speakers (bad ground,) got rid of my bi-xenon HIDs (8k.. cant see **** on country back roads, replaced with Silverstar ZXE,) used Rust-Oleum crack sealant where lower door seams are (rust bubbles starting to form, should prevent any water or moisture from getting into the seams,) replaced lower shock bushings(broke one of the ears off the LCA. ****.) Sprayed entire chassis down with Purple Power and power washed it. I completely undercoated the chassis. I tried Dupli-Color truck bed armor. We shall see how well it holds up. (I used paintable rubberized under coating but the coin power washer blew that stuff right off) Still need to do another coat, but i lost day light so thats tomorrows project, plus a complete detail. I still want to convert the interior to LEDs and service the transmission.
