Weird issue with A/C
97 Early F150, 4.2L. Three years, no AC.
Last year, I replaced the compressor, orifice tube and dryer only to have the dryer blow out the schrader valve after charging. Today, I got a new dryer/accumulator and a vacuum/recharge and air is working... however;
The best term I can use to describe the feeling is that the truck is "lurching" while the AC is on.
Picture that your're walking your dog on a leash. The dog goes one way and you pull the leash back.
That's what I feel, over and over. A tugging, over and over. Like someone else is tapping the brakes. Pulsating almost.
The compressor is new from Rock Auto with oil. It seems to be working but I'm wondering if maybe a belt is too tight or something? Does anyone have any experience similar?
This only happens when the air is on. It's fresh from the shop, it's not low on freon. It got 2lbs today. I'm at a loss and it's a difficult situation to describe. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.
