Default Upgrade question

So I have had many different tire and rim sizes on my 02 XL. 2 times now I put 10 inch wide rims on it and it has snapped the lug bolts right out of the rotor and caused other damages. I have 8 inch wide now but was wondering if changing to a 6 or even 8 lug pattern would help so I can run a wider rim on my truck. I want to use it for mudding and look. I know our 150's werent meant to run them but I don't have the money to go to a 250 or 350 yet but thought this could be a happy compromise for the time being.

What are you doing to snap off lugs? I've ran 10's on 2 different trucks for 8 years and never snapped them. Are you using the appropriate lug nuts for the rims? There are different styles. Tapered and flat washer. Right now I'm running 18x9.5 Lightning wheels with 1.5" spacers mounted with 37's. I've never snapped a lug off. There has to be something your doing wrong.

I'm thinking of two things, your using the wrong lug nuts, or your over torqueing them.

At the time I had done nothing but highway driving. I was told that really f150's aren't meant to have the over sized tires and to go off roading and I know we obviously see people doing it and not having any issues but for whatever reason mine have been snapping and I don't get what the issue is because I'm not shorting out on the quality of the parts that I use.

I think it's 120 fps Krack. I may be a little off. I know there are 2 different torque recommendations for the 12x1.75 and the 14x2.0 lugs. Maybe Carcrazygts2 knows.

Gotta be careful with an impact. Easy to over or under do it.

120 for 14mm 100 for 12mm. If your buying studs from the local parts store they are made in china. Also if you have replaced just 1 stud more than 2 times you may need to replace the hub or axle that correlates with the particular side.
