Default plastic box big enough for two...

Hard to pick it out of the lineup, if it's there, in your pictures. (Although I did get a good look at the little black wheel/dial that you turn in order to adjust the gear shift indicator... Been needing to tackle that little job on my truck.)
The signal flasher should be in a plastic box that looks big enough for two of them. I believe my box/cover was white, and it actually had a piece of narrow black tape around it from the factory. The cover snaps off, and there are actually two "flashers" inside - one a bit bigger than the other.
Since I know exactly where mine is /what it looks like, I can snap a picture for you, but I won't be back home with the truck until after work today...

Well, I did notice some blocks in my fuse panel that looked similar to the flasher I bought. But according to everything I've read online, it's to the right of my steering colmun, and my fuse panel is to the left.

lkrav3: thanks a picture would be great. It's raining here, so I wouldn't be able to work on it today anyway.

Default pictures and mental map

P'smurf,
Okay, it took me a bit to re-orient when I went looking under there. When I replaced my flasher, I took the entire lower dash panel off (the piece below the steering column. (tons of little screws and a lot of patience, but it definitely made it easier in the long run...)

If you start at the gas pedal, follow it up to where it connects to the 4 - 5 in. long shiny cylinder. (think big metallic cigar-shape) In my '02, that cylinder almost points right at the box that contains the flasher. On mine, the box is black - both the top and bottom. As mentioned previously, it had a piece of tape on it the first time.

See the pics I snapped w/ my phone and labeled w/ the computer. In the last pic, the red arrow points to the "top" and the green arrow is pointing to the bottom.
