Tune up Kit- Amazon Motorcraft
Hello f150forum!
I just bought me an f150 last week and I have been looking for a tune up kit. I did a bit of searching on which brand I should stick to and it's pretty unanimously decided that motorcraft is my best bet. I found this kit and it seems relatively cheap. Just wanted to see what u guys think about it.
Is that a good buy or not?
My car is an 03 f150 supercrew cab 126k miles

Nope, junk coils, don't purchase. Merchants have tried selling packages similar to that for years to make a buck. All the other parts look good. When it comes to coils, you should really stick with Motorcrafts unfortunately...It's like bylaw. Those are painted knock-offs. Between e bay and am azon, you should be able to find a Motorcraft set from 250-300 bucks.
Post up the set you find here before purchase. That way we can verify if they are the real deal.
That deal would be sweet if they were indeed motorcrafts though. The last set of true Motorcrafts cost me 249 a few years ago.
Visteons are the only substitutes that are built to Ford spec, but AFAIK they are no longer available.

ditto.
Lots of unscrupulous vendors package cheap knockoff coils with a few motorcraft sparkplugs or parts and put "motorcraft" in the name. dont fall for it. A real set of coils is $$$.
Best place is really rock auto when you need 1 or 2, and you will pay about $40 per coil. but you wont replace them every 15K like you will junk. every now and them find an individual someone selling them on ebay in unopened packages a little cheaper, I bought 2 for $35 each shipped before, which is a good deal.

Yes, those are Motorcraft Coils.
@ 126,000 miles. Iduno, it's kind of borderline whether or not to replace the coils. Once you begin having problems your coils, generally that's when you would spring for a new set. I'd probably wait until 150,000 or around there and swap out coils and injectors at the same time. Go for freshly sonic cleaned injectors or what may be referred to as rebuilt injectors.
