Default To trade or not to trade?

I'm not sure where to post this, but I have a 2000 f150 XLT supercab with a 4.6l 4x4 & 75,000km (approx 46,000 miles). Most things are stock & little to no rust.
I got offered a 2007 supercrew 5.4 4x4 with 230,000km & some aftermarket parts including muffler, levelling kit, rear blocks.
Cons is truck idles low on occasion (bad lifter?) and power steering whines around full turns but that's all.
I know if it's a completely bad lifter I'll be bummed out, but I want to know others opinion on what I should do?
Thanks in advance!

Way too little info...is the trade straight across? If so, why does the owner want to dump a newer truck? I'd be skeptical about any deal, but it's hard to tell with the limited information in your post.

I'd keep it. 3V engines are turds. Replacing cam phasers is very expensive. And it's not a matter of if. It's when...

Don't trade it. Your truck is older by age, not Milage... Everything on your truck should still work fine for a while, with the higher Milage truck who knows what kind of headache you're going to end up with. +2.

Keep the 4.6L. It's a much better engine and will run almost forever with just standard maintenance.

The 2007 may just have a vacuum leak or bad sensor causing the low idle. I would need more information to make a good choice.
