touchy brakes
ive been having an issue with my brakes locking up lately...
it only happens early in the morning when i first start the truck, and usually only locks up the first one or two times i press down on the brake. it seems increasingly evident when its dewey and cold in the morning. any ideas as to what the issue might be?

My 96 bronco does the same thing, especially after I replaced the rear shoes a few years ago. I've been told it's everything from excessive brake dust( yeah, right!) to flash rusting of the drums. Since it's been since the shoes were replaced I think it may be due to the composition of the replacement shoes interacting with moisture and causing an extremely "grippy" material within the brake drum.

the out of round could be a possibility but it wouldnt explain the issue of it being just fine for weeeks at a time during dry weather and even if it just sits during a rain shower, but if driven it the wet and left to sit for a day then it happens again.
also no sign odf a pulsing sensation from the rear end, just the usual warped disk situation up front. and that is always there rain or shine. (soon to be fixed with the back end)

I have a 1997 f150 and does that aswell early in the morning and it seems like its only the drivers rear side. i was told that it might be sending more pressure to that drum, but i dont know other than that the brakes work great. i will like to get any ideas aswell

Try to service your brakes twice a year; lube sliders, clips; getting rid of rust and using brake cleaner.
Ford OEM pads are metallic; try purchasing ceramic which shouldn't bind as much in cold weather-- at least that's what I'm hoping for as I had lots of issues with my rears this past winter.
Hopefully some better pads with more life on them will do the trick.
Good luck!
