Torsion Bars and Ride height
okay, perhaps this sounds weird, but I was talking with a friend who had a 98 f150 4x4 just like mine, and he told me that by tightening the torsion bars he got an extra 2-3 inches out of his front end, almost as if its was like a leveling kit. He said he also had to adjust the camber and what not. This friend is also a mechanic...so I am just wondering, is this good to do to your truck? It sounds like it would be like the old days when you could install stiffer springs. I know it would make a rougher ride, but are there any other pros or cons? Anyone else heard of this practice? Myself I am skeptical but hey who knows right???

when you go up with the bars, and raise the truck more. Its losing down travel of the tire. And stiffing the suspension, the more you go. I turned mine up 1 and 1/2 turns. It made really no difference in my ride. Maybe JUST fuzz stiffer. But... it was worth it. Over time I dont know what it does.

I had a ranger and cranked the t bars and it raised about an inch, just enough to fit one size bigger tires on. I had it cranked for a bout a year and it makes the ride really really rough, but other than that i didnt have any problems.

Just be careful going too tight, a few year back I had to help a guy off the mountain when he drivers side bar decided to "unbind", granted this was also because of a weak lift design from BDS.
