Tires on 2003 2wd f150 Screw
I have a 2003 f150 screw 5.4 v8 2wd and i want to get new tires. Currently i have 255/70/16. Im looking to go bigger and am most likely getting a 3" PA body lift. Im looking at getting a 285/75/16 keeping stock rims. My biggest concern is that the bgger tires will casue parts to wear faster. I dont want to put on anything that will cause my truck in any way to ware faster or more aggressively. Could/Would a 285 cause problems or wearing of the tranny or gears or anything? If so what about 265s? i want a noticiable difference in height....

the first no.265 is the width, 2nd no. 75 is the height, if you go 265-80-16 you will gain a little more than an in. in height. more than that and your performance will suffer. there will be no more wear on the rearend, on the front end, all parts wear more from bigger tires, (more) weight.

A 285/75 is about a 33" tire and a 255/70 is like 30" or so. It will definitely throw your speedo off but it shouldn't wear your tranny out. A 3" difference isn't much but you will see a visual difference
