The 315 tire calculates to about 34.6 inches.

Not sure where to ask on here.
I have 255/70R17 on my 2004 xlt 4x4
I pretty much have a choice of either 265/70R17 or 245/70R17
Can someone tell me what the difference would be in handling and stuff??
would the 245's be too small?
Thanks

livin' the dream
I would look on the sticker inside the drivers door and buy that size. probably the 265/70r17 size. That is the factory size that the transmission and speedo and computer are programmed for. unless you have a programmer and can change your size in that. Also, the 265/70 size is very common for late model trucks, which means more selection and also cheaper than off sizes because their produced in a higer quantity.
