Default tire question

I have a 2000 f150 2 wd and just bought a used set of MT bead lock wheels with 285/70/17 toyo AT tires. They are quite a bit larger than stock, seem to fit but I was off roading yesterday and hit a large bump. One of the front tires barely scraped the inner fender well, just wondering if a level kit that raises the front 1.5 inches would take care of this? Also I noticed the tires can be pumped up to 60 psi, just wondering for normal street driving would you just air them up to the vehicle tire pressure spec, I think 35psi?

Knot knowing the offset of the wheel nor the width it is impossible to know if it will rub without testing it. As for the tire pressure I use a an 8½ x 14 inch sheet of paper and drive over it. That will show me the footprint of the tire. I vary the air pressure till I get full contact of the tire tread on the paper.

thanks for the info, the wheels are the MT classic 2 locks, 17 x 9. They are supposed to fit the f150 stock.

You need to figure out how much compression movement was left in the suspension when it rubbed to know how much of a lift you will need. What scares me the most is that you hit a bump hard enough to bang the tire into the fender liner. If you add a spacer and hit that bump again you may slam the coils together before hitting the bump stop.

probably will just take it easy off road. Can always get a lift kit with hd suspension later for more serious off roading. It is also just 2wheel drive so does have some traction limitations. Below is a link to some photos of it.
