Default Tips or no tips? rear cats?

I am currently deciding on whether to run tips out the back of my truck or dump it when I do true duals. I am either going to cut out the rear cats or get high flows. If I can cut out the rears without a CEL, then I will do that instead of paying extra. I cannot get a CEL. So with that being said, would dumping both pipes over the axle look better or would tips out the back at 45's look better? I need honest opinions guys. Thanks in advance.

i would say, if your going to cut out any cats, cut out all 4 and replace with just 2 high flows, talking with a exhaust professional he said it would pass emmissions and inspec. as for the tips or dumping.....could you supply a picture of the rear end. (some trucks look better with tips and some dumped)

IMO dumped gives it a sleeper look. and whats a CEL?

oh, in that case...naww. atleast that what the guy told me. he work as a ford service manager for 25 yrs or so and now does full exhaust systems. im sure if you mess up the pipe or somethin you might throw codes.

and about the tips...im dumpin mine since so many people here have them with dual pipes out the bumper/corners/sides behind the wheels. up to you.

i would cut all the cats out and replace 2 with highflows and asfar as the tailpipes its all amatter of what you like i like mine to exit in the rear cos it keeps it fairly quiet in the cab but you can still hear it enough that you know its there lol!! you shouldnt have a problem with a cel if you leave two cats with the o2 sensor in the proper place i wouldnt take the cats out completly cos it is highly illegal i know it is in ct anyway big fines!! not woth the hassel it will sound just asloud and good with 2 highflows and true duals!!

I think I am going to replace them with the high flows just to be safe. I still don't know if I want tips or not. I like the look of both...

You gotta get tips, its the perfect finishing touch. Plus...just my opinion, looks alot more professional haha. But that ain't what everybodies alwaysy going for...O and i didn't read all the posts on this thread but concerning the cat's, you should be able to cut out 2 and not get a CEL, i know plenty of people that've done it. Also know a few that have had the CEL come on, most of those were Chevy's though
