I thought I had a couple more threads that I was subscribed to where a few people have stripped their paint and primed it theirselves. I want to say jdeckert did the same thing, but I can't find his thread in here.

The right way to do it is repaint the whole truck, you should be in the $2500-$4k ball park. I was quoted $3500 to do mine, that's a black truck and I said I want it flawless so you can probably get it done cheaper since blue is a little easier to work with.

This definitely was not caused by buffing. I have the same exact color 2002 fx4 lariat and my paint is exactly the same and I've owned the truck since day one and its never been buffed. I also saw the same color truck the other day and the paint was the exact same way. I'm blaming it on ford they painted it like their a**.

Its only had water and soap. Its like one day it wasn't there then the next day it was. I was looking around the web about it and somewhere someone had said that it was caused by the clear or paint drying to fast or not fast enough. Lol! That's not helpful but it was something like that. But I think there was a problem with this specific blue paint.

Just went to have the oil changed in my aviator and there was another blue f150 except it had the silver two tone and the paint was the exact same way as mine. I don't know what happened but it sucks.

This a big problem with the two tones.
Blue with gray and tan bottoms
And
Black with gray or tan bottoms.
For some reason, I've seen this on over a dozen 10th gens and they are all supercrews

I was asking because from like 2000-2005 I've heard there was a paint defect ford had on many models. It was because ford used aluminum body panels to reduce weight but before they got primed they were iron deposits that damaged them are some crap like that. But anyways it cause the paint to flake up and peel. But if your whole truck is doing it then I dunno. Cause your bed is fiber glass. I know the good is aluminum. I'm not sure on the finders and doors.
