Default throttle position sensor

Thanks in advance.....I got a code telling me throttle position sensor inconsistent with MAS . Changed throttle position sensor and now truck is idling way to high.
When it was running ok it would idle at about 700rpm and now is over 2000. Any help would be muchly appreciated!!
No longer any codes showing but still idles way too high.

truck is 03 f150 super crew 4x4 with 4.6L

did you try unpluging the batt cable let it set a while to reset the computer. I would try that see if the computer is just out of whack with the new sensor installed.

Default TPS

Thanks bones, will give that a try and post the result later today.

Another question that maybe you can help me with. The truck makes an annoying whistle noise at about 100km an hr that drives me insane. Was wondering if maybe I had a vacuum leak or something?

Thanks again for the help!!!

could be but i doubt it can you give more specifics on the whistle. where does it sound like its coming from. a general location of were it sounds like it coming from could elimate more comon things like the door seals leaking mine does that also a leak in a window gasket. also try reving the engine will in park see if you hear the whistle then as well that will tell you if its somthing to do with the motor running or wind passing over the cab.

I had a car once the paint was peeling off. as i was driving down the road one day a chunk of paint came loose about a foot sqaur came loose and i swear it sounded like some one was taking a base ball bat to my car lol so it could be alot of things make funny noises.

Default no luck yet

Tried unplugging battery to let pcm adjust to the new TPS but still revs way to high.
If I give the gas pedal a kick it goes right where it used to idle. Could it be the aftermarket sensor? Maybe I should try one from ford???

That noise only happens when truck is running at 100km an hr.....any slower and it stops as well as over 100 it stops.....weird I know..lol

If it isn't a motorcraft tps, I would pick one up. I had two aftermarket tps that were bad right from the store.

The best way to reset the KAM is to take both terminals loose and touch them together to disperse remaining electricity in the vehicles circuits then let it sit for 10-15 minutes just for good measure.
