Tensioner
How does a serpentine belt tensioner work on a Triton v8 4.6 liter engine
i am in need of changing it because the current belt is squealing and tearing apart.
its a 2000 ford f150
also, how do i get to the spark plugs? i don't see any spark plugs wires...

You Coil on Plug. You will need a 8mm socket, and a 3/4 rachet with some exstions to get the coils unbolted. If your boots are cooked to the plugs it will take some time to get them all off. The belt tensioner should be 3 10mm bolts, and it come right off. I did mine in the parking lot of Autozone in 15 minuets.

Use a half inch breaker bar and pull it to the driver side and that will loosen the slack. Reroute the new belt the way it says under the hood. When you change the serpentine belt use the smooth side of the belt where it hits the smooth pulley (no ridges) as the one you stretch the belt too. (thats the trick)
