Default Popping Noise. Cant find it

I have a 2002 f150 screw 4x4. I have noticed in the last month that whenever i turn at slow speeds (below 15 MPH) I hear an extremely loud (pop, pop, pop, pop,) roughly ever 2 seconds until i straighten out the steering wheel again. This happens when i turn both left and right so it is not limited to one side. Keep in mind i have stock suspension(Fx4). I haven't even cranked the T-Bars. I have visually inspected the under side and nothing looks broken. I also looked the problem up on google and have found many others with the same problem but not one post could exactly pinpoint the issue. It has gotten extremely embarrassing when im backing out of a parking spot and (pop, pop, pop) and you see a bunch of people just turn and stare at your truck. I really appreciate any help!
Thanks Guys

If this ends up being my issue, What would be the cost of replacing it? I would most likely have a shop do it unless its straight forward.
Thanks for the fast response!

You know I'm not sure on that one. For years I have had one or two parts truck sitting on my farm, so I rarely have to buy something from the parts store.

Maybe someone else has a price for you closer to where you live.

Fortunately, it's now fairly cheap to just replace the axle (half shaft) rather than rebuild the cv joints. That was a pain.
Remanufactured shafts are about $50 each and new about $75 each on the net. If you have air and an impact the job is not hard. Watch a Youtube video. Need a 35 mm socket for the axle nut. Should get new stabilizer kit (bolt, rubber insulators, nuts, etc.) for each side because the bolts tend to rust and break.
