@ Read15
I have the same problem now, did you ever find a way to open your door? And to top it off the other door just quit working. I have searched a lot for an answer but most threads are for the broken plastic ends.

take the door panel off from the inside and use a pair of pliers to pull on the cable.

i had a 1998 F150 with that problem and I fixed it properly for little money.
SOMETIMES THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN From the inside...AS A RESULT OF THE CABLE ATTACHMENT AT THE INTERIOR DOOR ACTUATOR... This explanations is ONE repair... that worked for me.
1) take off the interior door trim/cover/panel
2) note the door handle assemble
3) note the cable the runs into the door handle assembly
4) the attach point where the cable mounts/attaches to the door latch handle assembly includes a plastic piece which, over time becomes brittle and breaks .. it is the failure of THAT small " attaching"part that caused my door to not open.

now we are going to change out focus on finding a very suitable and inexpensive replacement part... AND you will understand what that part does....

Look at the brake handle assembly on almost EVERY motorcycle or bicycle (with hand brakes) and find/note three parts
1) the overall brake handle assembly which includes the part that clamps on to the handlebar and the other half of this assemble... which is the part that you squeeze to apply brake pressure.
2) Brake cable which runs in to the handle assembly
3) "THE BRAKE CABLE ADJUSTER" ...INTERFACING between these two parts stated above, ;( the brake handle and the cable,) is an adjustable
(expanding and compressing.. or lengthening and shortening) thing into which the end of the cable housing nests..... this is the part that you adjust to tighten or loosen your brake.

THIS IS THE PART THAT YOU GET FROM A BICYCLE SHOP FOR TWO DOLLARS... to replace the plastic part that broke at the end of the cable inside your door.
there are a couple different sizes of this part ( different thicknesses)... the skinny one for the cheap Kmart bikes worked perfectly.

again... on the bicycle brake assembly, examine how this part interfaces between the cable and the brake handle.... ask a guy at the bike shop to take one off and put it back on... tell him what you are trying to do......

That part is a near perfect fit and repair ...... IF...... the failure was the the cable mount attachment at the interior door handle actuator
.

Unfortunately the cable came unattached from the upper lock assembly. I don't know how to open the door aside of a crow bar.

Thank You!!! I will work on that first thing in the morning. I also intend on using your idea about the brake cables too, seems like a much stronger method.
