Exclamation Stuuddering after thermostat change?

I have a 2000 4.6L, and I just changed the thermostat. When I got everything back together, I started the engine to check for leaks. Well, no leaks, but now the engine studders and idles ruff. When I loosened the two bolts holding the housing, a bit of antifreeze spit out onto the area.

Does anyone have any idea what I might have done wrong, or what I can do to fix this issue?

Check the spark plug wells nearest the thermostat make sure there is no coolant in them. Check to make sure the coolant temp sensors are plugged in.
