Default Squealing noise

So for a while now my truck makes a loud squeal/squeak when im WOT (or close to it) going from 1-2 ans (2-3 sometimes). I read that its kinda normal for our trucks because the serp. belt is a little lose or something? Is this right or is my trans taking a dump on me?

Thanks

Stop going WOT unless you have a race truck, at the track. Problem solved.

It could be a number of things. None of which are worth fixing until they break. If you beat on your truck they wilk break sooner than later. You could put a serp belt on in you want and see if it goes away. Check your trans fluid and if brown or low, change it.

That's all you can do, besides my first suggestion.

Mine does it too. WOT then let off gas when changing gears and it squeaks. It's the belt. All the accessories are spinning really ****in fast when all of a sudden the rpms drop and they wana keep going really fast so they slip on the belt making the squeak. New belt didn't help mine though. Might replace my tensioner? Idk it's not that bad. My friend thought It was a blow off valve lmfao

So now my second question would be is there anyway to fix it other than replace the tensioner, or not drive WOT. Has anyone figured out a way to fix it?

Thanks

What kind of belt do you have and how old is it? There are only a couple of brand belts i'll run on a Modular. There's also a schillack that can build up on old pulleys which can make odd sounds at different RPM's.

I wouldn't go so far as to say don't go WOT but I will say you shouldn't be going WOT unless you know your truck and it's Maintenance History. Above all else, take it from an old 37 y/o, don't play with more than you can afford to fix.

These are not race trucks or Mustangs, you can beat on them just as much but you have to do it in different ways.

I agree. The belt is probably a good 1 1/2 old. I have no idea what kind it is. I know I bought it a O'Riellys I wanna switch the the good year gator back belt. But I havent really read a whole on them for our trucks.

Switching to a gator back might fix it. But if not then replace the tensioner. If for some reason you still don't want to do that, finding a belt that is just slightly shorter in length but otherwise identical might help. But I'd just replace the tensioner if it were me.

O.K. Ill try the gatorback and if that doesn't, I will replace the tensioner. I will keep this updated and hopefully I figure out a solution.
