Default Squeaking when backing up

I have a swqueak comming from the rear end when I back up, anyone know what is going on?

98 4x4

mine does it too, and its brand new...mine is the brakes, when they sit over night and get dew on them they squeak when i back up. seems like once i drive for a little its gone.

nope, I only here it when backing out of the garage, and when I get home from school when I back up to the mailbox. So the breaks have had some use at that point. At first, I thought that it was just the rear pads self adjusting, but it happens all the time now.

get under the truck and see if there is alot of play in the driveshaft.

I agree that is the first thing I thought of. If it were me I would pull the driveshaft. You won't feel any play if the joints are just going dry. You might, but prolly not. Pull the shaft and work the joints if one of them or both get stiff (no joke intended) then its a bad u-joint.
