I too had the same issue, no speedo, did the gause sweep test and the speedo did the sweep. Brought it to my Brother-in-Law and had him test all sensors, all was ok. No odometer either but all segments lite up with the odometer test. I had 2 codes, 500 and 1502 speed signal input. I have a wrecked 2001 and changed out all items PCM, Instrument cluster and the PATS and all works great now.

I did some digging and found out the truck (2003 with a 5.4) had a computer from a 4.6. Everything worked but the speedo/odometer and cruise. Also my TCIL light was flashing (overdrive light).

You said you changed the PCM but did you reprogram the PATS after that? You just can't change a PCM and have the vehicle start as these 3 parts are all tied together. If one of these is changed, the PATS is triggered and the truck goes into a no start with the Theft light flashing rapidly.

You mentioned the truck was a wreck, maybe it too has the wrong computer in it. Just trying to help you out as I had the exact same thing

Also, you mentioned it has a manual tranny. can you get the the numbers off the PCM and I will check to be sure the PCM will work in that particular truck. What size engine? 4X4 or not? and so on

Thanks for your response, my truck is an 03 4.2L 4x4 manual tranny. Here is the code off the original PCM which is sure to be the stock one the truck only had 20,000 miles on it when my buddy wrecked it , 2L3A 12A650 AGC...Also I just pulled out the current one which is the same #. It has been reprogramed for the new one?

this is what I get for the PCM

FORD F150 PICKUP 03 Elec Cont Unit (ECU); 6-255 (4.2L), US and Canada mkt, MT, 4x4 (ID 2L3A-AGC)

So the PCM checks out. Did you do the instrument cluster test? Hold the trip reset button in while turning the ignition to the on position. You can also turn the engine over and have it start but there is no need to. Keep holding the trip reset, release the trip reset once the cluster is in it's test mode. Keep pushing the trip reset but don't hold it in as this will kick you out of the test mode. now push the trip reset once at a time til you come to the dtc display in the odometer, one at a time push the trip reset and record the codes.

Also, do you have any stored codes in the OBDII port under the dash? You need a code reader to pull them.

Another thing, see if you can get to a tranny shop to test all the sensors.

You are more then welcome for the responce, I know how frustrating it is trying to dig up answers and I am just trying to help out is all
