Default Spark Plug Blowout

I haven't had it happen yet on my 2001 5.4L but I am paranoid about it. I changed the plugs at 100K myself and I have 125K on it now. I didn't use a torque wrench because I couldn't get one in there, especially the rear plugs. Should I go back and try again to torque them or should I assume that since nothing has happened in 25K I am ok. My Ford garage said my truck engine doesn't have the blowout problem but I thought my truck is one of the ones with the blowout problem. I should add that the old plugs at 100K were great looking. Perfect color.

You definetely need to use a torque wrench, or you are risking spark plug blowout. Do it right the first time, or don't do it at all. Install plugs on DEAD COLD engine. DO NOT use anti-seize lubricant. Torque plugs to 28 ft lbs.

If they are torqued anything less or you use anti seize, you run the risk of spark plug blow out!
