I have a 2003 V6 Auto Trans with the manual 4x4 lever. When I try to engage 4 high I sometimes get this terrible grinding noise. It doesn't allow me to go back to 2 high so I have to throw it in neutral to stop the noise. Also, when I try to go into 4 low- it sometimes wont allow me to go back to N or anything else. The person I bought this from said it's a switch. Sounds like a lot more than a switch to me. I'm following the instructions in the owners manual. Also, sometimes the 4x4 light sticks on in 2 H and also the Low Range light has been coming on. I got stuck on the side of a dirt road twice because the truck would not move yesterday.

Just filed a complaint with the BBB. Alls the guy did was grease/clean the "switch" 3 times. Any ideas with that set aside?
