Default so this may be a dumb question

I've been looking into getting a new alarm system/remote start, but what my issue is, will it disarm the alarm when i use my door keypad?
Or will my keypad be rendered useless.
Is there a special alarm/remote start that works with the keypad? Or do you just need to somehow tie the alarm into it?

I don't want to loose the availability of just walking out to my truck and not having to say "oh !#*@ I gotta go back for my keys"

Thanks in advance for your help!

That is the exact reason why I am putting a keypad in now. lol

You might have to email the specific companies and ask them about that.

That's what I exactly did in our Expendition with wired keypad. I can still use the keypad to unlock the door but I cannot use it to disarm the alarm.

If your keypad is wireless you can add it as remote transmitter in the new alarm system.
