My 5.4 has been ticking on startup for a few months now only when the motors cold. It has 252,500 miles on it I use castrol high mileage 5W-20 6.5 quarts ( valve covers leak a bit so I want to keep it full ) and I haven't had to add any oil this oil change I also run the motorcraft filter. Anyway after start up it ticks and will tick for a mile unless you let it idle for a minute or so. You can hear it a little in the video

no. Just to the max fill 6 isn't to the max just to the middle. Blupher puts the same amount in his. At least I'm not like my genius dad and put 7 quarts in.

also the history on the truck said it has had the low oil light on before.

yeah. The dealer said they changed the oil and sent the po on his way.

Would Lucas oil stabilizer help? Or what would need to be done to stop the tick because i don't like it.

I cant even hear anything abnormal from the video. Might be my speakers. idk.

But it's worth mentioning if it's coming from the wheel well area it's probably just leaky manifolds due to broken / missing / rusted manifold bolts. The factory exhaust mani gaskets can also go bad a leak a bit. Best to check that before buying other stuff.
