I agree
My household has three 1/2 ton trucks, two fords and one dodge........
the dodge is the newest, most powerful and with the most options. It will also last forever because we would rather drive our 14 and 15 year old fords every day
But your right, nice looking trucks the dodges......

I had a pallet full of tile in the bed of my truck and it never hit the bump stops haha. and I know it was up there, I think each box of tile we had on the pallet were 25 lbs each, and we had probably 30 or more boxes total on the pallet too. I guess the AALs my truck has helped out some haha.

I'm not even sure what my trucks payload is lol I have had a lot of stuff in the bed tho. Probably close to 2300 pounds of wood and concrete back there at once she was squatting a little bit for that one. But driving it I hardly felt a difference. I'm not sure what the numbers are on the Dodge but if they are super low (which I doubt they are) it would definitely shy me away from getting one

You never think about payload if you're just a general consumer until you have a ton of weight you need to haul and you don't have a trailer or don't want to go grab it

We don't have a trailer so if there is something heavy or a lot of something it just gets put in the back of the truck. Which is probably bad lol we probably shouldn't do that. But I have have at least a ton of wood back there 2 times, a truck load of gravel, and a full load of hardwood flooring which weighed at least a ton. Idk if I have over loaded it or not but it has hauled some heavy stuff

Pretty sure the payload is less than 1k pounds so I've tripled that before. Did I like it? No. Afraid I was gonna break something. I'm curious what the first thing to break the truck would be from overloading the bed. Maybe the frame or spring mounts would get tweaked if you keep putting more weight on after the rear suspension sits on the bumpstops. Or the rear bed crossmembers. I've got a 6x12 trailer now that can haul like 3k and I've had 4K in it before with no issues. Don't really have a need for loading up the bed of the truck anymore

That sure is a nice truck you have. In my market its only a 7or 8 k truck even though it is definitely nice.
Not sure the payload rating but my work truck dropped pretty bad with anything over 400 lbs in the back and at the rear of the box.
I put on a set of coil helpers ( the ones that make no contact until 1 inch of drop ) they made a big difference for me on the work truck. I put about 1000 lbs of rig gear back there every day and she handles it real nice now
My truck pretty much is only ever on the hi way. I live off the hi way, my shops on the hi way, the fuel station and ford dealer are on the hiway. I'm pretty lucky to not have to drive through a city with or without a load☺

Most I've ever had was 1850lbs of scrap metal in the back of mine. Drove just fine.

I calculated the payload of my supercrew it was 1,600 pounds. Minus the fat people in the cab
