again, a real truck needs it so it doesn't die when introduced to a little work

Well yeah if you use the truck a lot rake is alright. But I maybe pull a trailer once a month at the most and it's nothing really heavy and out of the things I've pulled nothing has been heavy enough to move the rear end down more than an inch or so.
