No love bugs where you are? These things are way worse than skeeters. I hear ya on being more difficult to clean & such. When I wax, I remove it. Blow it out with the hose & wipe behind it on a regular wash. Luckily its not rubbing my paint off. I kinda like mine, so it will stay on.
