I got that one from Crutchfield about 2 years ago (I believe it's the Scosche brand - and it was the same price as the "slotted" one. If you don't see it on-line, then call them). I didn't want the one with the useless "slot" over the head unit. This is a heavy enough piece of plastic that supports larger switches than I put in.

Brilliant minds think alike! I got that specific head unit because of the selectable RCA outputs (I have the Lariat with the external amp, which needed low-level signal) and since I've LED'd my whole dash, I needed the color-change feature. Works fine, lasts long time!

Here's what the full effect is: LEDs in cluster, Temp panel and light switch module. Blue LED in Antenna match module (in overhead panel); Cobra 29 NW-ST in same panel (off to the right, out of the frame), and Edge Evo programmer, which by coincidence, is also backlit in blue. Dome light and door courtesy lights are white LEDs. Head unit color matched to the gauge cluster.

I love the fact that you can color match it to the dash! I've been having problems with mine this week shutting off randomly and won't come out of protect mode due to the -40 temperatures we are having

I had a similar JVC unit in a Cadillac I got rid of. That one, using the built-in amplifier, did the same thing. The one in the truck does not do that, since I'm only using the preamp - and won't go into protect mode, even at a 50 volume setting.

Here's where I put my switches, I left the extra wire in there to keep the lid from moving (it's the garage door compartment)

did you just fish the wire through the head liner and down the a pillar? If I ever add more switches I'll probably end up doing that style rocker switch looks good!

thanks! yeah I ran the wires up thru the dash and a pillar then unscrewed the visors and console so that I could pull down the front of the headliner then ran the wire from the front of the headliner to the overhead console and when I pulled the wire tight it pulled itself under the headliner and out of the way.
