I've been thinking about putting them there too bigmikek. I just finished mounting my Sirius satellite radio on the top left corner of my windshield, thought that was a good start, pics will be up tomorrow. Keep me coming!

If you have an aftermarket head unit, you can get the mounting kit with the blank panel, which is perfect for switches. Currently, one of these switches is for a radar detector on/off, so it's hardwired. 2nd is for a relay for aftermarket fog lights. And, there's room for more.

That's pretty sweet I've thought about putting in a aluminum plate there and mounting switches in it, I got the wood grain and the same deck! Haha

Here's all I've done to my 97

-LEDs in gauge cluster & HVAC controls
-LEDs in all interior lighting (except glove box light, idk how the hell to get the bulb out)
-Added an AUX plug to my radio (huge PITA but doable)
-upgraded door speakers (but that doesn't really count)
