Default Goodbye old green :(

Well after sinking thousands into getting my truck running again the snowy roads took her as victim to someone elses poor driving...

BEFORE

and the unfortunate AFTER

Luckily the airbags didn't deploy and nobody was injured other than some minor aches. The truck is a write off though and it being my first truck it hurts me to see her go...

The truck that hit me was driving too fast around a corner and lost control. It was a 1997 GMC 1500 and it swung into my lane, the impact caused a sheared U bolt in the leafs which dropped the whole pack and the axle let go from underneath of it. It also destroyed the tranny and oil pan.

To say the least I am happy that she was built ford tough!

Can't you just fix it? New bumper, grille, headlight, fender? Doesn't look that bad. Any actual damage to the frame or drive train?

There is a good bit of frame damage plus the oil filter was relocated behind the bumper and all the lines were severed and the mount destroyed, the coolant reservoir cracked in half and tie rod and cv are broken there is more to fix than worth it to fix especially after the money I already have in it

There is more wrong than what I mentioned, I have to go back to the shop on Monday to talk to the insurance adjuster about the damages, but I am positive it will be a write off. The rad support is bent as well as the frame (bumper mount back) and the fender mount is pretty beat up. The hood is bent all out of shape and the windshield needs to be replaced as the u bolt from the gm hit it hard. I hate to see it looking like this but it could have been a lot worse

I can't believe the rear on the Chevy took that kind of damage. Wow
