You can cut as much as you want or even remove it all together, or even build one of your own. There's no real standard for "safe"

exactly how big are you going to? is your truck stock height? sounds to me youre trying to cram a tire in there that shouldnt go in there if you have to do that much trimming. your turning radius will be greatly reduced and the tire will rub on the frame when turned full lock.

35s wont rub on bumper if they do its minimal. i hve a 3" body lift with my Tbars turned about 1 1/2". i have 315/75/16 BFG A/Ts (34.6" tire, basically a 35") and the only time it rubs is when i turn it full lock it hits the frame.

And if you decide on some spacers for the front or offset wheels then it'll clear them with very minimal trimming. By minimal I mean the valance will lose an inch

You'll have to trim the valance some. Just use a dremel and trim it up some and it should fit. I ran 315s with tbars cranked but I ripped my valance off so I never had to trim it. It did rub at full lock but after wheel spacers I quit rubbing on the frame. I did rub when at full lock to the left if I hit a bump and it compressed it did scruff on the very bottom off the fender. I used a dremel and trimmed it up.
