Default Service engine soon

I was getting gas and my service engine soon light came on when I turned my truck off. Took it to an oil change place and they wanted to do a 100$ smoke test to see if I was leaking anything. I declined then took it to tuffys and they had these codes thrown

Neutral park position switch 1709
AC switch 1464

Tuffys wanted to charge me a 100$ to go into a better diagnostics test. It's driving fine now but I don't wanna pay 100$ for some bs test they wanna do.

Should I just keep driving it as is or take it somewhere else ? Any ideas what it could be?

Advice=Start fixing stuff. Got get yourself a Haynes OBD-II Manual to double check codes and fix whats wrong. I wouldn't drive it to long with those codes. IMHO

I need the actual code. Do you have automated climate control? The Nuetral safety switch is the switch on the side of the trans that tells the pcm which gear the trans is in. If it doesnt get a signal it will throw that code. The ac switch code is when the automated climate control does not get a pressure reading from the a/c cut out switch.

Could they be on a common circuit or fuse?

Took it to the shop and they said it was running lean on bank 1 and bank 2 and to fix it I need to get a tune up done. Fuel filter spark plugs etc does that sound right?

The shop knows more than we do about your truck. I'd take their advice. Yes, that will probably clear it up. Either do it yourself or have them do it. I would guess they'll charge around $300 for plugs w/ new boots and $20-60 for the fuel filter.

I just had some similiar problems with my f-150 at 164K. I had my bank 2 Sensor 1 O2 sensor runnin lean. I replaced it myself, which was a BI%$# to do, but if you can it will save you a lot at the shop. Replacing worn out spark plugs could also be a problem with it runnin lean if you have poor ignition quality. Bad fuel filter could be a problem as well (Easy fix to do yourself).

Good luck

tune up has nothing to do with the codes you posted.
