Default sending unit location

I’m a first time user to the forum so I hope I’m posting to the right place. My question is:
Where is the oil pressure sending unit located on a 2000 ford f-150 4.6 triton?
This morning I stopped at a stop sign, the oil light came on and the gauge bottomed out. As I accelerated the gauge rose and the light went out. This continued as I accelerated and release the gas pedal. I only drove a few blocks. There is no motor noise. Everything seems ok. The oil is full and the filter was changed 2 weeks ago. I thought I would change the filter and replace the sending unit. But I don’t know where it is.

Welcome to the site

Look on the left hand side of the engine, it should be near the oil filter.

Welcome to the site, might consider inspecting the wire from the sending unit back to the wire loom and also trace the loom back to the firewall, perhaps the wire is chaffed and is shorting out.

Use the oil specified by Ford, my 02 says 5W20. Watch your oil level and keep it above the add mark.

If your manual or oil cap says 5W30, than go for it. Mine says 5W20. Incase you miss read. Check your fill cap.
