Center Console install
I'm heading down to the Pick & Pulls tomorrow to look for an Expedition Console and Roof Rack. Will I need any Torx bits or special sockets to remove either of them?
01 Supercrew Lariat w/ bucket seats
Edit:
The Expedition needed:
15mm
1/2" with a breaker bar to snap the heads of the bolts.
7mm
8mm
My 01 Supercrew Lariat with buckets needed:
E8 & E12 sockets for Console base studs
18mm for stud nuts
7mm or T20

Yep, special torx bit is required to remove the seats and instal the console
I believe it's a Snap-on 55 IP
(Different different from a regular T55)

Awesome, thanks for the info. Hopefully I find something today.
It sucks I have to drive an hour in either direction just to try and find a pick a part. If I lived in the sticks I would understand.

I ended up finding a center console but didn't get the roof rack because it was raining. The Console's a bit dirty and Pop covered but I should be able to clean it up alright.

...crap I think I need the brackets, don't I?
There's another 3 hours out the window. I should have researched this more before I decided to do it. lol

I just got back. The stars were aligned this morning so I ended up getting the Roof Rack as well. It's from an 05 Expedition but will still work on my Supercrew.
There were tons more Expeditions then I saw yesterday. A few even had good brakes, Dual Core radiators and HD Trans-coolers. ..My wife's going to kill me if I go back again this week, lol.

I didn't look at the size but it was a smaller torx bit, maybe a T20.
Yesterday I was under the impression that you had to drop the headliner to pull it off but that's not the case. It's bolted from the top down and you can't use the riveted studs so it's just the screws to pull out.

Can you upload a pic of the brackets? Also did u have to buy the snap on bit for the console? I'm heading to the yard sat to look for a hood. Will look for consoles too.
