That would be cool but if you left it in gear it would make for a great story

A guy I use to work with installed one in his Mustang (manual). He did his himself, I don't think any shop will do it unless you know someone. I would hate to think about if I left it in neutral or not before I hit the button and to see the car launching into something

You would have to think about it before every start. With my luck, the one time that someone was walking in front of it and I tried to use it I would have left it in gear.

I know a guy who did this several years ago. He put a micro switch everywhere the shifter would be when it was in gear, so it wouldn't start if it was in gear. Must have built some sort of mounting bracket to put them on.

we dont install rem starts on man trans, i have seen the damage a car in reverse can do to a shop bay door when rem started by the customer, not pretty. but i did have a man trans car that i installed one on, and i NEVER left my car in gear, always the parking brake, but thats a risk you take, but most good rem starts have manual neutral safety switch you can install, so that if you do put it in gear and then flip the toggle switch, it wont remote start, just my 2 cents.
