Rear window (trim? molding? seal?)
Ok, I just seen another F150 similar to mine and now I know why my rear window was leaking and got worn out, The plastic trim (?) rubber seal is missing. I tried to locate it on LMC but could not figure what the heck to call it to get it to pop up on the search. All I kept getting was the window or rear parts...can someone fill me in on what its actually called? I'd at least like to order the rubber seal that goes around the trim, the top of the cab was filled in with silicone (i'll have to dig that out) probably because the seal got worn out or removed.
As it is I have about a 1/2" gap between the plastic trim and the cab.

I have the sliding rear window, but thats not the seal i'm talking about. The one between the plastic trim and the cab is the one that is missing. I had the main window seal replaced and now it doesn't leak, but i'd still like to get the rubber dirt guard seal back on it.

The original molding had a foam seal around it from the factory. The seal is not servicable seperately from Ford. The replacement molding has been redesigned with a nice rubber seal around the perimeter. the only problem is that this molding retails for over $400.00

rear window seal 2001 F-150
can you purchase this from Ford or is it an aftermarket product?

You have to replace the whole window trim panel. I havent worried about mine. I dont have the dirt guard on mine, and have no issues. And that wasnt the reason the window started leaking.

Just go buy a roll of rubber weather stripping from Home Depot and put it around the panel. The stripping should have adhesive already on it, so it's a matter of peel an stick.

I know this post is pretty old but I thought I would post my fix for this just in case someone else came here seeking answers like I did. I too was fixing a window leak and decided to take the trim piece out and paint it. I called Ford for a new seal and they said I had to buy the whole trim piece to get it... for $540. I bought 4' of the smallest vacuum hose I could find at my local Napa (Part# NHB H-458) and a tube of clear rtv silicone. Clean everything really good first, then above the third brake light mount put a generous amount of silicone and with a shop towel and a pair of slip joint pliers gently squeeze the hose into the gap for the seal. Silicone around the rest of the trim piece and and position the hose and let silicone cure for 24 hours. I honestly believe this fix will be far superior to Ford's original design
