I have a 2001 supercrew - Before I go yanking on the plactic trim that surrounds the back glass - I want to sure it does simply pull off.

Bump this one up because I am wondering the same thing. Mine looks awful as well and I would like to paint up black to clean things up.

the plastic you want to yank off has nuts threw the inside of the cab i think it has about six nuts you have to take some of the interior of in order to get to the nuts,.......... good luck

Glad I asked - I would have been xtra mad had I busted it off - as well as rolling backwards across the bed and onto the driveway from pulling so hard : )

painted mine..but i painted the whole truck at once....just sand the living mess out of it and you should be fine....i painted all the plastic...but things like my bed rails and tailgate cap are starting to bubble and flake off...
