Okay this should be an easy one for somebody.

My left turn indicator was blinking fast yesterday, so I thought "I've got a blinker light burned out." The front blinker works, the back doesn't. So I pulled the light. I changed out hte bulb and still have the problem. Running lights are okay. I looked in the F150 Users Guide and didn't find a fuse specifically for rear turn signals.

Where do I "turn" now?

Hi there, and welcome to the forum. Go back to the lite and check for power, also look at the socket for any discoloration, heard they go bad. Those tiny little wires sometimes don't make connection. If all looks good and you have power then check for ground with an ohm meter. With out an ohm meter you can substitute with a test lite. Put the bulb back in and probe the ground wire, if test lite and bulb lights up your ground is defective somewhere. Before I confuse you more give that a try and get back to us.

I just realized that my cruise control will not engage today as well. Perhaps there's a common fuse? When I get a chance I'll check my Manual.

Btw, both the brake and running lights work on the back left. Just will not blink. So it shouldn't be a ground issue, right? And certainly is not a bad bulb.

Take a closer look at which filament is burning, yes it still could be a ground and back feeding. They can cause headaches. Compare the filaments lighting up with other side. Its still probably the socket. Another thought and I think you mentioned it, is there more than one flasher. Try using the 4 way emergency flashers.

Here is what I learned. Its not the bulb, socket or ground. I am not getting power to the socket. I removed the socket and checked wire directly. I ran hot wire from battery and was able to verify good ground loop. From some other posts they mention a bad connector on the multi-function switch in the steering column This will probably be my next investigation. I know this thread is old but did you guys find a solution? Could save me some trouble.

I have a 1997 F150 and my drivers side rear turn signal quits working now and then.

I will get a fast flashing front and instrument light and the rear light will not work.

When it was doing it I had a meter out and was getting a varying voltage at the socket in the back. I checked for ground continuity. Replaced the bulb in the back, the flasher relays, and the multi function switch.

It will work fine for a few days and then it will stop while driving down the road. When I get to where I am going I shut it off and when I got to leave it is working again.

It don't seem to matter if it is dry or rainy it is like flipping a coin sometimes it works sometimes it don't.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

Hello everyone,
I am also experiencing the one rear blinker not working. I am going to dive into it and will let you know what I find. So far all hazards work (front, side mirrors & rear). All brake lights (both rear and top middle on cab). All driver side blinkers good (front, mirror and rear). Front, mirror passenger blinkers work but not the rear. Yesterday I went to change the light bulb and it didn't fix the problem. I turned the hazard lights on and i got this "shorting/electric" sound as if something was about to catch fire. After turning hazard switch off and on the noise went away and hazards continue to work. Still no passenger blinker.

What I found in the end was a connector under the bed of the truck didn't have the tabs to hold it together were broken. The connector felt loose. I took it apart cleaned it out and put contact grease on it and zip tied it together. Never had a problem with it again.
