tbe chatter is the clutches in the limited slip. sounds like all you need is to change your rear end fluid, that chatter is pretty common. my 03 takes 75w140 syn gear oil and if i remember its 4 or 6oz of limited slip additive. check yours to be sure though.

just make sure you dont have a leaky pinion or axle seal or rear cover rotting out.

oh which would just cause your rear end to be a little low on oil. probably not the case though.

how are those terra grapplers workin for ya? i looked at em but went with fun country II's instead

no leaks at all on the rear diff or seals. Can you recamend a good gear oil other then penzoil? The graplers are awsome on snow and ice and decent in the soupy stuff. The tires wore pretty fast but a supr crew fx4 is pretty rough on 6 ply tires. How do you crank the torsion bars and how much lift will that give me?Hope you can help

you can crank the torsions by turning the adjusting bolts clockwise, there is one adjusting bolt at each end of each bar. usually you can get about two inches out of em whcich usually levels the 150's out pretty good. i put new keys on the end of mine, new keys will re-index the bars as opposed to loading them with more stress. i got my tough country kit for 120 bucks, well worth it. the bars have to be unloaded though, which depending on experience usually isnt too difficult, care just has to be taken.

but a t-bar crank and a front end alignment is a pretty good and easy way to level up your truck. ill get some pics on here of my ride and you can see how much more level it is compared to a stock truck.

as for a good rear end oil i like valvoline syn power 75w140. i plow snow and haul a trailer quite often so my rear end is always workin hard. the valvoline gear oil and sta-lube "equa-torque" additve are a good combo. most parts stores have both in stock.

I also had a rear end chatter after a quick oil change place replaced my
rear end oil. I went to the dealer and they sold me what they call Friction
Modifier, seems like it was about a 4 oz bottle and cost about $5.00 at the
time, must be higher now. In about 15 minutes it was working perfectly.
I think parts stores also sell something close to what Ford sells as there
additive . I think you should use syn. blend 75-140w in Fords
